Dover Castle
Dover Castle towers high above the spectacular White Cliffs and is an impressive site to visit. Discover the Secret Wartime Tunnels, walk the extensive battlements and even tour the underground hospital. One of the largest castles in the country, this historic site holds centuries of secrets. Take yourself back in time and learn how enemy ships were detected at the Admiralty Lookout, you can even learn some Morse code. With so much to see and do, Dover Castle is a great place to visit. This castle is not an example of how Kings and Queens lived but concentrates on its role as a fort and the battles that it has endured. Visitors can experience the siege of 1216 by Louis VIII of France; discover the labyrinth of secret wartime tunnels built under Dover's white cliffs and walk through the rooms where the miracle of Dunkirk was planned. The secret war time tunnels are only accessible on a guided tour with numbers limited on a first-come-first-served basis.

Highlights: - Let your imagination run wild as you explore the Secret Wartime Tunnels built deep within the cliffs. Having been used as an air-raid shelter, military command center and an underground hospital the tunnels are definitely worth a visit.
- Follow the incredible story of a wounded wartime pilot as you tour the castle's hidden underground hospital.
- Walk in the Step of History through the rooms where Sir Admiral Ramsey planned the "miracle of Dunkirk", which saw the rescue of more than 300,000 troops from Dunkirk.
