Nemesis is an oldie but a goodie. This ride pulls in the crowds so be prepared to queue for a while. It's well worth the wait when you get hit by more than four Gs moments after take off. - Oblivion, the world's first vertical drop roller coaster.
This thrilling ride was the world’s very first vertical drop roller coaster when it opened in 1998, and it continues to wow guests to the Alton Towers Resort to this day. - Air, the world's first B&M flying roller coaster.
This rollercoaster was one of the first 'flying coasters' to be built in the world. First opening in 2002, you'll get strapped in and 'assume the position' - which means you'll be riding this rollercoaster lying down, flying like Superman. - Rita - Queen of Speed, a launched roller coaster which accelerates to 100 km/h (60 mph) in approximately 2.5 seconds.
Rita - Queen of Speed is Alton Towers Resort's newest rollercoaster, having been added to the world famous collection in 2005. It's a short ride - but one brimming with rip roaring intensity, not to mention that it’s very, very fast!
The park's promotional music is In the Hall of the Mountain King, written by Edward Grieg.
